'Desi girl' Priyanka brings back oomph with DON 2

DON 2 is up for release and in her sexy-n-glamorous diva avatar Priyanka Chopra can be pretty much expected to set the temperatures soaring with her mature and attractive act which is the core of her role as a cop in the film. Notwithstanding the fact that in the film she is pretty much in a battle with Shahrukh Khan, what with the on-screen enmity continuing from where it left in DON - THE CHASE BEGINS, DON 2 is just the kind of set up that brings Priyanka in the kind of zone that entirely belongs to her.

"7 KHOON MAAF was an extremely serious and grim affair which means to look attractive was out of question for most part of the film. Moreover in ANJAANA ANJAANI too she was playing a depressed and suicidal character and hence being a quintessential leading lady was never going to happen. However it is apparent that all of that is set to change with DON 2 since it is a glossy affair where Priyanka can unleash the glamorous side of her. Of course it is no DOSTANA or FASHION but still the film gives her ample scope to see good attention for herself," says a source.

One hopes that Priyanka is keeping this in mind as well since her next two films, AGNEEPATH and BARFEE, are different affairs again.

"Though these may be early days, it seems unlikely that either of the two films would present her as someone who is as desirable as is the case in DON 2," says an industry insider, "In AGNEEPATH she appears to be quite desi while BARFEE is supposed to be one of those middle-of-the-road films. DON 2 is her big chance of making a huge impression and she would be aware of that as well. It is high time that she steps out and starts making some good noise as well because come December and it would be Shahrukh all the way."

Will the 'Desi Girl' oblige? Let's hope so!
