Ekta Kapoor seeks divine grace for THE DIRTY PICTURE

This is Bollywood at its paradoxical best. The benevolence of Indian gods and goddesses and deified Sufi saints is well known and one person who knows how to take advantage of it is Ekta Kapoor. She even seeks the help of divine stars and constellations in her business projects and personal life. She does not move in or out of her house before consulting them.

This time the ultra religious feisty producer is going to the ultimate length. She is setting out on a pilgrimage to cover the entire length and breadth of the country for a self-proclaimed DIRTY PICTURE. She won't be alone. Her jattha includes the stars of the film Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan and Tusshar Kapoor and its director Milan Luthria. In the east these celebrity pilgrims will be visiting Kamakhya Devi temple in Guwahati, and Kali Ghat temple in Kolkata, then they will be flying northwards to pray at Ajmer Sharif, before rushing down south to Tirupati Balaji, the reigning deity of Balaji Films, and finally touching their home base Mumbai in the west and probably visiting city temples like Mumbadevi.

They don't necessarily have to do this arduous mattha teko exercise and involve gods and goddesses in their film's promotional campaign. THE DIRTY PICTURE has already become a hot property since the release of its sleazy and salacious promos, posters, and songs. The film is based on the life of the late Silk Smitha - the apsara of celluloid sleaze, the sexy siren with thunder thighs, and a deadly combo of Rambha, Urvashi, and Menaka. Over enthusiastic distributors in various territories are lining up to buy its theatrical rights with folded hands and blank cheques. The film seems to have the blessings of the god that has the maximum following among the Indian film audiences - the god of sensuality, sexuality, and erotica - Kamadeva.
