Search for a young girl to play opposite Prateik is in full swing for the film ISSAQ which is an adaptation of 'Romeo and Juliet'. Interestingly the film is set in Banaras and the film will have rustic look to justify the place and characters. Where Prateik has been finalized to play the character of Romeo, the Juliet has still not been found. Director Manish Tiwari has personally auditioned close to hundred girls and the casting director and the chief AD have further met another hundred girls aspiring to play the Juliet. The casting team in fact was sent to Delhi and Pune but no avail... Currently a team of four people are stationed in Lucknow and Banaras to continue the casting process.
Says a source from the production house, "It is very important that the casting of the girl is right. She has to look very good with Prateik in order to have a great chemistry on screen. The character of the girl is very young not more than 18 may be, beautiful with small-town mannerism. She is romantic and tender yet very strong-headed and matches the hero in intelligence and shooting back a reply. The team is finding it very difficult to get a girl who has all these qualities."
Says Manish Tiwari, "We want a fresh pairing for the film. The girl has to look very vulnerable and has to be not more than 18 years old to look perfect with Prateik who will have a very lean look in the film. Shakespeare's play in fact has a 14 year old Juliet."
Says Producer Sailesh Singh from 'Paramhans Creations', "We thought of many names from the industry but then I understood Manish's point and I agree that a new face with all the other right ingredients will best serve the script. The film has to go on floor soon as we are looking at early next year release and all the pre production work has already been done. Hopefully we will find our Juliet soon!"
