The well-known filmmaker Vinod Chopra was speaking in the post-screening discussion during the ongoing festival of his films at PVR Cinemas, Juhu, Mumbai.

In his reply to a question if Shahrukh Khan was his first choice to play the role of MUNNABHAI MBBS, he said that King Khan had been the first choice for all his films including the MUNNABHAI series, 3 IDIOTS, and even FERRARI KI SAWAARI. It was not clear if he was just being zestful or stating the fact. It is well-known that MUNNABHAI MBBS and the other two films were first offered to SRK and he had declined them for various reasons. He had reportedly declined 3 IDIOTS because he wanted Raju Hirani to do the film for his banner. Hirani was unwilling to do that as he had no intentions of moving out of Vinod Chopra camp. SRK has yet to do a film for Vinod Chopra Productions.
