HOUSEFULL 2: Monumental achievement of success against IPL razzmatazz

It has taken five years but entertainment has scored over cricket in a big way as the fifth season of IPL is on its way. Phenomenal success that HOUSEFULL 2 has achieved is more so creditable as it has been released at the time when the IPL's fifth season is underway and in spite of the bandwagon of IPL the patrons have come back to cinema halls to endorse their stamp of approval. The comedy of HOUSEFULL 2 may be inane and rather repetitive, but for an audience starved of genuine entertainment, it has come as Manna from heaven.

After all, viewing a movie is all in all a business that can be wound up maximum in four hours, but to be a part and parcel of an IPL match in the stadium one has to allocate minimum of six hours. In the present times, when time is such a precious commodity the duration for which a film run has been the catalytic factor in scoring over a cricket match of the IPL. Success of IPL is when the audience reaches the stadium to watch a match, and so far audience is not thronging, manifest from the commercial that has been released goading the audience to be in the stadium as it might provide a photo-op with a cricketer. But how many times does it happen in reality, rarely to be frank.

HOUSEFULL 2 is a smart package of stars old and new, in fact it is a big motley crowd of stars spanning across generations and is the first film where Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor have shared the screen space together in forty years of their association with the world of cinema. This could also have been a catalytic factor in success of HOUSEFULL 2 as the plethora of stars would not allow the audience to think about associating with a character, a fultoo time pass so to say.

For Akshay Kumar the success of HOUSEFULL 2 has come as a shot in the arm as his ROWDY RATHORE is round the corner as he has tasted success after a really long time. He had started having self-doubt whether his brand of comedy was clicking or not, but the success of HOUSEFULL 2 has underlined it. The only moot point is that he should not over do it and mix his repertoire with action as well and it would ensure HOUSEFULL for long times to come for him.

As a director Sajid Khan has again emphasized that he knows how to tickle the funny bone of the audience and the critics may carp but the footfalls ensure that he can keep on experimenting with his senseless comedies in the future as well.
