Katrina to join 100 crore club with Salman, SRK starrers?

Till last year, the only competition for a place at the top for Katrina Kaif was Kareena Kapoor. With both actresses delivering hits on a regular basis, the only differentiating factor between Kat and Bebo was the number of box office centuries that latter had scored. However with Asin boasting of three centuries and Vidya Balan too arriving with five hits in a row, it is about time that Katrina gets roaring again.

"Katrina has been doing quite well over the years but one thing she would be really longing for is a 100 crore grosser," comments a trade expert, "After all, that's the barometer for any successful popular actress today."

Katrina would agree since Kareena has already scored four centuries so far (3 IDIOTS, BODYGUARD, RA.ONE, GOLMAAL 3) and now Asin is one just step behind with three (GHAJINI, READY, HOUSEFULL 2). Both are looking good to for more with TALAASH, HEROINE and BOL BACHCHAN arriving before end of year. Moreover, even though Vidya is yet to deliver a century, she has scored two half centuries in women oriented films (THE DIRTY PICTURE, KAHAANI) and delivered three successes in a row before that (NO ONE KILLED JESSICA, ISHQIYA, PAA). With huge competition around Katrina, all eyes are on her upcoming releases.

Says a source closely tracking her career progress, "She has EK THA TIGER and Yash Chopra's untitled film releasing before end of the year. It is given that both films would do at least 100 crores each at the box office. With Salman and Shahrukh as the main leads, these are two of the most hyped projects of the year. Also, let's not forget that Katrina is an integral part of these films and not just a hero's eye candy. She enjoys author backed roles in both films and would benefit commercially as well as critically."

With her DHOOM 3 and DOSTANA 2 all set to hit the screens next year, it would be interesting to see how Katrina catches up with Kareena and Asin in the 100 crore club and heats up the number game.
