Trust Aamir khan to again think out of box and refresh the nostalgia associated with Satyamev Jayate that he had created all over the country and different parts of the world when his show Satyamev Jayate was airing. He chose an opportune day as well to submit the Action taken report on the issues that he had highlighted through different episodes of Satyamev Jayate underlining the fact that he was not there on the show for entertainment, but he wanted to bring some relevant social issues in the public domain and stir the consciousness of the nation and those are at the helm of affairs so that the common man is benefited.

The occasion for the ATR was also apt, the Independence Day with perhaps the hope that the spirit of Independence would pervade and try to facilitate spreading element of positivity all around. Satyamev Jayate was the first show after the advent of satellite television in all probability that went live both on the private broadcasting channels as also on the national television network, Doordarshan as also All India Radio. Understandably this meant loss of revenue as the advertisements that were shown during the show time, when the show was telecast on Doordarshan went to Doordarshan by virtue of it being the broadcaster, but for the production team the issues on hand held prime importance than the leakage of revenue.

Benchmarks were created when Satyamev Jayate was being telecast as on a single day more than 10 crore messages were developing on the social networking site with the kind of buzz the show had created. The TRP ratings for the show which were announced informing that the show was on the decline, may not have given the correct picture, as the social media was abuzz with the issues on each occasion when an issue was addressed through the show.

Lency Fernandes who had headed the team of research for the show was candid enough to admit during the course of broadcast that he had never dreamt about the momentum that the show would gather when it was at the drawing board stage.

Apart from the fact that quite a lot of unsung heroes were brought to the forefront, the show also served as a catalyst for scores of silent sufferers around the countryside to raise the banner of revolt and break the shackles of submission that they were subjected to through various overt and covert means, methods and processes.

Aamir Khan has raised the bar for the show by hoping that when the next census is due in 2021 the number of boys and girls in the country would be at par, and then he would feel that a purpose has been served for which the show was designed. Indeed, it is a challenge that the country has to rise and strive to.
