Aamir Khan opens advance booking for TALAASH

Three days is what decides whether a film is going to be a hit or not! With the multiple screen theatres the exhibitors are able to ensure that a film can be shown minimum of six-seven times during the day and the cycle facilitates in faster turnaround time to generate avenue. In the world of Hindi cinema Aamir Khan is considered to be an astute businessman who thinks imaginatively to increase the footfall for his films.

So trust him to do something really innovative for his yet to be released film TALAASH. The film is being released in November 2012, and for the first three days of the release the bookings have already opened in the month of August itself. PVR Films is the co-producer and they have started making the bookings for TALAASH.

Is it a novel approach to market a film, or is it an attempt by Aamir Khan and others associated with the making of TALAASH to perhaps encash the goodwill associated with 'Satyamev Jayate' and invite the audience to be a part of this new initiative

Now the number of times a film can be shown in a single day is the guiding mantra for its commercial success. The result is that the duration of the Hindi films has now started hovering between 2hr 10 minutes to 2hr 20 minutes; EK THA TIGER is the latest such example.

Innovation indeed is the key to ensure that the film which is being offered to the audience recoups its investments. As it happens with new business initiatives, there are teasers to create a buzz around the product, and pre-booking three months before the release of TALAASH follows the same pattern. But it would have been more enticing, if pre-booking for TALAASH was accompanied by some kind of a freebie to entice the audience. As it happens with all the new products, which the manufacturers desire that the audience adapt, the freebies are the catalyst. So some kind of a freebie should have been packaged along with the pre-booking offer for TALAASH.

May be, the freebies can still be packed in, as the bookings have just opened a few days ago, and the 'Talaash' of the audience to be a part of TALAASH when it finally hits the screen could really be worth waiting for.
