Sonakshi Sinha: I have a lot of time to prove myself

JOKER has released today with which Sonakshi Sinha now has three releases under her belt (including DABANGG and ROWDY RATHORE). With two more films (SON OF SARDAAR, DABANGG 2) to arrive before end of year, one common factor in each of the films starring Sonakshi is that they all have been driven by male protagonists. Not just that as even the film's title is also all about the hero. Doesn't her heart pine to step into films which are far more challenging assignments and lend her an opportunity to push the envelope further?

"See, if you see other actresses who are on the top today, even they started with four songs and five scenes in their first few films," says Sonakshi, "I know what my place is in the industry and I am happy to consolidate on that. I don't know what's the criteria for others to do films but for me it is all the more important to have an enjoyable experience more than anything else. I have a lot of time to prove myself and am sure that there would be many more performance oriented roles in my future films."

While that happens, she is happy to be finding herself in a space where she turns into a 'soni kudi' for Ajay Devgn in SON OF SARDAAR and then also bring on some 'tez dhaar' to keep Chulbul Pandey in check as he gets into his 'dabangg' act.

"The way promo of  SON OF SARDAAR has been accepted is simply terrific. I am told that it is one of the most popular promos around and that too weeks before the release," says Sonakshi, "Of course we must have done something really good. It is heartening to see a film of yours make such good buzz so much in advance."
