Aamir Khan's TALAASH collects 49 crores in 3 days

Where most Khans plan their film release on a holiday Friday or on the auspicious occasion like Ed, Diwali, Christmas or even after IPL season, as holiday season generally adds to the box office, here is one Khan for whom Friday box office any way defies all logic and science. Well we are talking about the perfectionist Aamir Khan and his lately released film TALAASH - THE ANSWER LIES WITHIN, which released on Nov 30, a non-holiday Friday and creating swaying Box-office.

It collected 14.52 crs on day one, 16.37 crs on day two and 18.1 crs on day three. It has earned 48.99 crs net at the Box-office in the opening weekend in India.

To give a perspective a non-holiday Friday last was BOL BACHCHAN - 11.75 cr, COCKTAIL - 10.75 cr, RAAZ 3D - 10.50 cr, RAAJNEETI - 10.50 cr and BARFI! around 8.5 crs.

In the overseas, in North America it garnered $ 657, 000 on Friday; $ 734, 000 on Saturday (highest ever day for a Hindi film beating MY NAME IS KHAN was $ 733, 416). In UK it collected £107, 000 on Friday; £152, 000 on Saturday.

In Middle East it made $ 310, 000 on Thursday; $ 442, 000 on Friday; $ 350, 000 on Saturday, crossing a million in 3 days.

The satellite rights of the 40 crore Reema Kagti directed, Aamir, Rani, Kareena and Nawaz starrer have been sold for Rs. 40 cr.
