Bollywood films that entered 100 crore club in 2012

Cinema is all about entertaining and in the processing also setting the cash counters on fire at the box office. For the year 2012 it was a year of reckoning as a new barometer of success of film emerged, of being able to do a business of more than 100 crore. The commercial success of a film started being measured by the commercial success that it was able to achieve.

From this perspective the year of 2012 was a huge success as the films continued to strike the 100 crore benchmark on a regular basis. Here is a chronology of the films that scaled these exalted heights and created cinematic history in India.

AGNEEPATH: It was the first film of the year and set the tone for the industry as it scaled the benchmark of Rs.100 crore within few days of its release and underlined the fact that as a producer Karan Johar indeed had the pulse of the audience and knew how to deliver hits. For Hrithik Roshan AGNEEPATH emerged as the first film in all probability to reach the magic figure of 100 crore. It would be interesting to watch whether he would reach the same heights in KRRISH 2.
