Imtiaz instrumental in shapping Deepika Padukone's career

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has been quite instrumental in shaping Deepika Padukone's career. Firstly he gave her a film like LOVE AAJ KAL and an endearing role of Meera, which is still cherished and then he went on to suggest her to choose a character like Veronica from COCKTAIL when she had the choice of both the characters from the film. And for that Deepika is absolutely grateful to Imtiaz Ali.

Today where ever she goes she is addressed by her on-screen name Veronica. People have resonated with her character and also loved her performance; she feels if it was not for Imtiaz Ali she would have chosen Meera as a character.
