Checking out the 45 crore (sans Aamir's fee) Reema Kagti directed Aamir, Rani, Kareena and Nawazuddin starrer, TALAASH, after a good opening weekend (44-45 crore) the film could not quite sustain and fell Monday onwards, and alarmingly from Tuesday. During the first week TALAASH collected 10 crore from Bombay (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 2.35 crore from Ahmedabad, 58 lakhs from Surat, 66 lakhs from Baroda (collections from 4 cinemas unreceived), 28.55 lakhs from Rajkot, 1.35 crore from Pune, 51.20 lakhs from Nasik, 6.25 crore from Delhi city, 90 lakhs from Noida, 61.50 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 45 lakhs from Kanpur, 85 lakhs from Lucknow, 22.50 lakhs from Agra, 23 lakhs from Allahabad, 5 lakhs from Aligarh, 1.30 crore from Gurgaon, 20.50 lakhs from Faridabad, 8.25 lakhs from Kuruskhetra, 10.65 lakhs from Panipat, 28 lakhs from Chandigarh, 45 lakhs from Jalandhar, 9 lakhs from Amritsar, 8.35 lakhs from Ludhiana, 11 lakhs from Bhatinda, 8.15 lakhs from Ambala, 6 lakhs from Jammu, 1.85 crore from Calcutta, 2.15 lakhs from Darjeeling, 20 lakhs from Siliguri, 9 lakhs from Dhanbad, 6.15 lakhs from Ranchi, 13 lakhs from Guwahati, 85 lakhs from Nagpur, 25.15 lakhs from Jabalpur, 40.50 lakhs from Raipur, 91 lakhs from Indore (collections from 3 cinemas unreceived), 45 lakhs from Bhopal (collections from 4 cinemas unreceived), 1.60 crore from Jaipur, 16.50 lakhs from Ajmer, 10.20 lakhs from Bikaner, 40 lakhs from Kota, 1.75 crore from Hyderabad, 25 lakhs from Aurangabad (collections from 4 cinemas unreceived), 2.50 crore from Bangalore, 7.50 lakhs from Vijayawada, 10.50 lakhs from Visakhapatnam, 12 lakhs from Madras, 5 lakhs from Coimbatore and 7.50 lakhs from Kochi. Netting a decent 64.50 crore during the opening week, TALAASH can be classified as an above average fare, based on the worldwide run. The film has shown a good run in the overseas (bumper in US) grossing £713,550 from UK and $ 2,397,900 from the US till the second weekend (7-9 December).
