Farooque Shaikh: LISTEN AMAYA deals with two generations

Actor Farooque Shaikh had cult following in the 80-90 phase, and was part of many successful off beat films, and was equally proficient in entertaining yet good cinema. But much to his fan's disappointment the actor cut down on his assignments.

However he made a resounding comeback with the National Award winning, LAHORE, and followed it up with the topical SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX . And the good news is that early 2013 will see him in the already talked about LISTEN AMAYA.

When we asked him if LISTEN AMAYA was a film of today he told us, ''Yes, in a way it is. The film deals with two generations. One is our generation (Farooque and Deepti) and the other is Amaya's generation.''

As may be recalled during our conversation with the LAHORE director, Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, he had told us that Farooque Shaikh had said yes to the project only after a lot of persuasion and deliberation. And so we were curious to know what made the class actor okay LISTEN AMAYA. And he replied, ''Actually the writer-director(s) came with a bound script and gave me a narration. And it was only after that I approved it.''

Well, we are sure that LISTEN AMAYA will be another wonderful performance (as always) from Farooque Shaikh more so as he reunites with his favourite co-star Deepti Naval. But more about that later!
