Kareena Kapoor - Bollywood's highest paid actress

Numero Uno actress Kareena Kapoor recently emerged Bollywood's 'Most Profitable Actress' at the Business Awards. With domestic box office collections of 200 cr+ plus movies under her kitty, Kareena emerged the unquestionable money spinner female actor.

In the list of highest paid actresses in tinsel town, this lady wears the crown! If reports are anything to go by, the actress was paid close to Rs. 8 crore for Madhur Bhandarkar's - HEROINE, the highest that has ever been paid to any leading lady in the history of Bollywood.

Says Madhur Bhandarkar, ''Working with Kareena is like a dream come true. She was always my first choice.''

Standing tall amidst an industry ruled by the leading men, Kareena Kapoor who was recently immortalized in wax at the prestigious Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, is the first actress to join the much coveted 100 crore club. Having starred in 4 films that have grossed over 100 crore at the domestic box office in less than 2 years, a feat no other Bollywood star has achieved so far, Kareena Kapoor has established herself a force to reckon with.

The actress in a near 2 year period has delivered four of the top ten grossing films of all time- 3 IDIOTS which earned Rs 170 crore locally, GOLMAAL 3 mopping up Rs 108 crore, followed by the 141 crore grossing BODYGUARD, and the VFX magnum opus RA.ONE. The actress then went on to put up a note worthy performance in EK MAIN AUR EKK TU.

Says acclaimed critic, ''Kareena is the only actress to enjoy the privilege of being in the 100 crore club. She has the looks and talent and the box office is also backing her. She is going to break her own record with her films to come.''

Apart from achieving historic box office success and being the only actress to have worked with all of the industry's top notch actors, Kareena Kapoor is also the leading actress in the brand space as per official TAM reports, with the highest number of brands in her kitty in comparison to her contemporaries.

Says an agency insider, ''Today, actors earn more than 50% of their annual income from brand endorsements, shows and star appearances. Kareena comes right after the Khans in the list of endorsements, and if you count cricketers, only after Sachin and Dhoni.''

On a high note says a trade analyst, ''There is no competition with Kareena Kapoor. Talking about numbers and standings in the industry, she is the entire 1-10 margin. She is the Amitabh Bachchan of her time, there were constant comparisons with her contemporaries but with her recent films she is here to prove she is her only competition.''

''Kareena is at the best stage of her career .It's a rare opportunity to work with the younger Gen-X lot of actors as well as the established superstars of the industry and Kareena has films with both in her kitty. She is a complete trendsetter,'' adds another trade expert.
