Deepika Padukone: No awkwardness between me and Ranbir

Where many ex-flames swore that they would never come together to work in a film, no matter how well the roles suited them, ex-lovers Deepika and Ranbir seem to be far more practical in this context. In fact, they are among those rare couples who post break-up not only conveniently merged together for a film but are also working amicably. Deepika is currently working with Ranbir in Ayan Mukherji's film YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI.

Prod Deepika if she ever felt awkward teaming up with ex-flame, Ranbir and she says, "No, because I feel if there was any sort of awkwardness we wouldn't have signed or agreed to do the film in first place. The reason why we agreed to do the film together because we knew there would be certain comfort. And I think in that sense we've both handled it very well. We've handled how to keep our personal lives aside and have focused on our professional commitments."

"I think Ranbir is as obsessed about Cinema, movies and work as much as I am. And for us nothing matters more than the work," she adds.

Deepika is quite happy getting back to being friends with Ranbir and she highly respects the camaraderie between them.

Says Deepika, "But on personal note I would like to say we share great friendship. I am glad that we have maintained that. Today I respect that more than anything else."

Meanwhile, Deepika is gearing up for her upcoming release COCKTAIL which stars Saif Ali Khan and newcomer Diana Penty.
