Bollywood box-office report of the week

The inevitable has happened and Pradhudheva's Akshay-Sonakshi starrer, ROWDY RATHORE, has embarked on a huge start, across India. During the opening non-holiday weekend ROWDY RATHORE has netted 48.50 crore, beating the previous records by (READY and HOUSEFULL 2) by more than 6 crores, and the way the weekdays have progressed ROWDY RATHORE is on way to be a blockbuster hit, in the weeks to come!

With UTV (who had a total investment of 70-75 crore) having sold off the satellite and audio rights of ROWDY RATHORE for 40 crores, the Indian rights (retaining Delhi-U.P., Mumbai circuit barring Gujarat-Saurashtra and East Punjab) for 25 crores, needless to say that the film has turned out to be goldmine for the them! The film is also doing reasonably good business (distributed by UTV) in the overseas (barring UK, where it is picking up) grossing £145,600 from UK and $ 382,000 from the US, during the opening weekend (1-3 June).
