Sajid's HIMMATWALA brings live orchestra back

Staying true to the retro theme of his upcoming film HIMMATWALA, remake of 1983 original film, director Sajid Khan brings back the Live song recording with orchestra, an old-school concept which sort of vanished with the technological advancements over the years.

Sajid flagged off his film with a song recording in a retro style. Music composer duo Sajid-Wajid, who have composed the music for the film, used 100 musicians orchestra to record the chartbuster song 'Taaki O Taaki' of original HIMMATWALA.

Sajid says, ''Such live recordings don't happen today because of the technological advancement. As our film is retro based we wanted to bring this idea out.''

Sajid is glad to bring the old musicians in action. He says, ''I met some of these musicians in the morning they were literally in tears. I could see the glee in their eyes with the return of live recording. After a long gap we got the opportunity to get the old musicians in action, who were out of work. I feel so glad to once again bring them in the recording studio. Hats off to my producers Vashu Bhagnani and UTV who supported my decision.''

Sajid-Wajid said, ''It may be an old concept of recording with 100 musicians but the sound always stands out. There came a time when we used only synthetic sound. We think it's a perfect blend of electronic and live which will only add to the film's music. Besides Taaki there are other songs in the film which will be recorded in the same method.''

Actor Ajay Devgn, who was also present at the session, said, ''Live recording sound is always better.''

Bappi Da, who composed the original track, will also be part of the new HIMMATWALA. While the original song was sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle, the same song will be sung by singers Mika and Shreya Ghoshal, however as per Sajid-Wajid style.
