Vikram Bhatt is on a roll. In the busiest year ever of his career, he is already neck deep down into the post-production of DANGEROUS ISHQ, is currently shooting for RAAZ 3, supervising his productions HATE STORY & 1920 - EVIL RETURNS and also formulating plans for his next production. While he is definitely sounding gung-ho about the projects he has in hand, he has no qualms in admitting that he doesn't hesitate in backing off from his own productions if the final results don't match his expectations.

''I pick up stories that are interesting. Then I agree on the directors if they seem promising. I back a production to the hilt if the shooting is satisfactory. However if the eventual product isn't enticing enough, I do detach myself. I can't put any further money just for the sake of it if the film by itself is bad. Yes, it may have my name attached to it but I can't paint the town red singing praises about a film if I know at the bottom of my heart that it hasn't been made well,'' says Vikram Bhatt in a holds-no-bar conversation.

He is obviously referring to his last film LANKA that gave heartburn to everyone attached to it. While its director Maqbool Khan and actors Manoj Bajpayee and Arjan Bajwa were disappointed with the fact that it wasn't promoted well, especially with Vikram refusing to talk about it in the pre-release period, Vikram says that he had valid reasons to stay away.

''I don't blame Manoj when he says that the film saw poor promotion coming its way. However nobody can blame me either for not promoting it since I didn't find anything redeeming in LANKA. They had their own reasons to think it was good; I had my own reasons to think on the contrary. They did what they had to as actors, I did what I felt was right as a producer,'' Vikram doesn't mince a word here, ''The film didn't turn out to be what had been promised. It was a tepid affair. That's the truth of the matter and whether we like it or not, we have to live with it.''
