Arjun Kapoor: I wanted to pursue direction

Those of you who can't stop talking about Arjun Kapoor's good looks as an actor must know that this young Kapoor never wanted to be an actor for a very long time.

It was only when his photograph was spotted by a casting agency on a social networking site that Arjun took a call on doing films as an actor.

According to the actor, "I had put on a lot of weight and never gave acting a serious thought but Salman gave me the confidence to lose weight. I wanted to pursue direction on a serious level. When you put on weight you stop believing that you can face the camera."

Now, that Arjun Kapoor is already making headlines, does he think he has an unfair advantage being the son of Boney Kapoor? The actor is quick to respond, "I have not been launched as Boney Kapoor's son. I have been through auditions before my director finalised me. It does make me happy to be doing a film with a big banner but at the same time I will need to be accepted by the audiences before I can start considering myself as a good actor."

ISHAQZAADE that features Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in the lead will hit the screen on the 18th May this year.
