Akshay Kumar: ROWDY RATHORE has raw action

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who started his career in the film industry as full blown action hero, shifted his base to comedies for quite some time. However, after a gap of 7 years the khiladi kumar is now hell-bent to return to action. His upcoming film ROWDY RATHORE, directed by Prabhu Deva, will see him in an out-an-out action avatar.

Says Akshay, ''ROWDY RATHORE is a perfect comeback in action. It has raw action and directed by one of the best action directors, Prabhu Deva. I am returning to action after 7 years because I wanted a break from it. As I had been doing action films for an uninterrupted 14-15 years. I know it was a big break but that's fine. Now I have as good as 4-5 action films lined up.''

Prod Akshay about his decision to return to action was out of the ongoing trend or any particular film influenced him to take up action again and he says, ''I did receive a lot of offers for action earlier. But I deliberately not chose it. No there was not any action film in particular or the ongoing trend of action films which inspired my comeback. I did it because I wanted to. It was long time I did action.''

Akshay also has no qualms when people compare his ROWDY RATHORE with Salman's DABANGG. 'It's better to be compared to a superhit film than to be associated with a flop film,' says Akshay in a matter of fact tone.

Though action happens to be Akshay's comfort zone and he can easily pull off most dangerous stunt with ease, doing action in ROWDY RATHORE was a completely different experience for him. ''It's a different action because it's raw and involves street-style fight sequences. I have always been in touch with martial arts and technical kind of action. So this was something new for me. But it is quite practical than the technical one,'' says Akshay.

Akshay may have taken a break from action but he always kept a tab on the new advancements happening around. Says he, ''I left action but I was never away from it. Being in the industry I always knew about the updates and advancements happening in the action arena. Moreover, I did lot of Advertisements which were full of action sequences.''

''Action has become much safer now. There has been lot of changes over the years in the kind of action which we see today,'' he adds further.

Further on, Akki quite sportily takes his lean patch which he saw between SINGH IS KINNG and HOUSEFULL series.

He says, ''All you have to do is enjoy the fact from where you started and what you have today. That will make you go ahead in life rather than cribbing about what you didn't get...That's prudent and rational and that's how one has to face life. Everybody at some or other point goes through lean patch so it's not only me who has been through it.''
