Neha Sharma is Shahid's love interest in TERI MERI KAHAANI!

Though she is currently shooting for KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM and JAYANTABHAI KI LUV STORY, Neha Sharma would be first seen in TERI MERI KAHAANI where she would be playing Shahid Kapoor's love interest in the current era. However, one is tempted to ask her about the reason for such a long break between her debut flick CROOK (opposite Emraan Hashmi) and TERI MERI KAHAANI? After all, in the year and a half gone by, she could well have squeezed in more films, isn't it ?

''Of course there were offers but then you have to pick those that go with your sensibility as well,'' says Neha who is looking at an eventful year ahead now, ''At that point in time, out of the offers that I received, there weren't many interesting roles for me to do. Just because I am open to being unconventional doesn't mean I would pick up anything experimental.''

So what really are her selection criteria when it comes to picking films that could range from being unconventional to totally commercial and still give her satisfaction of doing them?

''There are two things. First and foremost I have to look at the film from an audience point of view. Yes, one has to see the story from an actor's point of view as well so that you can showcase performance as well. However before that, I need to ensure hits. Hence second thing I need to do is deliver successes which means work on survival projects,'' she says in an honest tone, ''For me, both are equally important because I have to do a film which is liked by the audience. It may not be a brilliant biopic or anything great but it should be successful''
