Sajid Khan: I have an edge over most directors

After working with Akshay Kumar, Sajid Nadiadwala and Riteish Deshmukh in three back to back films, Sajid Khan is now more than half way through the shooting of HIMMATWALA with Ajay Devgn. With friends continuing to find prominence in his life for all these years, Sajid says he is happy to live his personal life as well as form a professional equation in a similar manner for years to come as well.

All praise for the actor says Bhushan Kumar, T-Series "Aditya surprised all of us with his guitar skills, he is quite a talented musician and a versatile actor."

Impressed by the actor's skills on the guitar whilst shooting for the film director Mohit Suri gifted Aditya a limited edition piece, especially flown down from America.

Confirms director Mohit Suri "For an instrument it is on the expensive side but he deserves it. He is simply magical with his fingers. This guitar is a special edition piece. I asked my friend to ship it from America."

Directed by Mohit Suri, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, T-Series & Vishesh Films musical drama AASHIQUI 2 is currently being shot in South Africa.

"My rapport with actors is such that I love them. I understand what it takes to be an actor and this is the reason why I don't judge them with parameters like whether they are big or small, have a large or miniscule role or get fat or thin pay package. I have faced the camera for 15-20 years and I know the insecurities, tantrums and mood swings that an actor goes through. This is the reason why I have an edge over certain or most directors because my tuning with actors is almost like that of a friend," he says.

Continuing in the same vein, he fires away, "I simply believe that there is no big deal about making a film, at the end of the day it is a job for everyone. It depends upon the kind of environment I wish to create on the sets. So when you start enjoying, laughing and clapping as the scenes are canned and generally have fun not just with the actors but also the technician, everyone wants to come back early in the morning and resume shoot. That's filmmaking for me because as I have always maintained, I am not making them to prove a point to anyone or to win acclaims. I am making films because I love watching them. My actors know about that and that's the reason why they love working with me. They know that what we bring on screen won't be the greatest film ever but that would be entertaining for sure."

Well Sajid, one can comfortably state that audience would indeed be looking at getting entertained once HIMMATWALA hits the screens on 29th March next year.
