Ajay Devgn slams Yash Raj Films for misinformation

Ajay Devgn is angry at the ways of the film industry. He thinks there is no sense of fraternity within the industry and each is left to his own here. He strongly refuted the notion and allegation in a press conference that he filed a case in the Competition Commission in spite of the passing away of Yash Chopra. He said that the case was filed on 18th October, 2012, even before YashJi was admitted to hospital. He also added that as per the rules of the Commission, a complaint made cannot be withdrawn until it is investigated and adjudicated by it.

He is not concerned about the Commission's verdict regarding SON OF SARDAAR but he thinks that the matter is of serious concern for the entire industry. He also reacted strongly to the misinformation being spread that there are 10,000 single screen theatres in the country. He said that there were not more than 5000 single screen theatres that would release Hindi films, and almost 1500 of them were either shut, or in shambles. He informed the media that his film's release was being blocked deliberately, which was evident from the fact that at some centers and locations out of ten good single screen theatres, he was getting just one or two for SON OF SARDAAR a film so well suited to the taste and temperament of single-screen-theatre mass audiences. He, however, has no issue with multiplexes.

He said none ever talked to him about the issue when he announced the release date of his film. He had also suggested to other producers after YashJi's demise to advance their film's release by two weeks to accommodate SON OF SARDAAR and was prepared to shift his release date but none agreed. He was left with no option. A lot of money is riding on his film, almost 80 crores, and the corporates like Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Eros International are answerable to their investors. According to him, SON OF SARDAAR is a typical 'Diwali' film, a hard-core family entertainer for masses as well classes and that's the reason the film is releasing on 13th November 2012. He is very confident about the success of his film, which is based on an idea taken from a South Indian blockbuster MARYADA RAMANNA by S. S. Rajamouli.
