Reema Kagti reveals reasons for TALAASH delay

Why is TALAASH - THE ANSWER LIES WITHIN releasing close to a year after it was first expected to arrive? The question has been making rounds ever over the year gone by in which the Aamir Khan starrer came close to release at least twice and then was pushed ahead due to various reasons. While some of them were considered to be dicey, a few were even plain ambiguous that led to wagging tongues. However the film was worst hit by the rumour that it was similar to KAHAANI and hence the entire (yes, you read it right - entire) film was re-shot.

With the film finally releasing today and open to audience scrutiny and eventual verdict, director Reema Kagti bares the reason. As it turns out, there were not just one but quite a few of those.

'First and foremost, the delay wasn't caused due to KAHAANI. There is no similarity whatsoever and you can yourself see that today. There were in fact number of other reasons,'' she sighs.

When prodded, she reveals, 'See, I myself had a bit of personal issues. My dad was ill and then I lost him. That was a setback. Later, when we started shooting, we had to capture some underwater sequences. Somehow we couldn't do that in India so we had to go to London and shoot those sequences.'

It is a known fact though that 'Satyameva Jayate' kept Aamir Khan occupied as well.

'Well yes, that's a face. However while he was shooting, I was getting the edit together. Frankly, it took time to do that so it wasn't like Aamir was busy with the show and we were sitting idle,'' Reema clears the air, 'In fact I was working on the film till very recently and finished the film only late last month. At the end of the day, the time that it took in filming the sequences to its editing and then the post production ended up making the film's release just correct. Now that we are arriving today, it has been a comfortable journey. Otherwise usually there is a lot of stress involved in finishing a film.'

Now here is hoping that the results are indeed worthy enough as well.
