SOTY: Will audience see beyond Varun's good looks?

STUDENT OF THE YEAR, is all set for release and while it is a given that filmmaker Karan Johar would make sure that, good looks of his actors are taken complete advantage of, and hence the presentation on the big screen turns out to be all glitzy and glamorous, one looks forward to the kind of value that Varun brings on table. After all, as an actor, he is responsible for bringing in the right dose of drama and romantic expertise as well other than just the song and dance routine, which, by the way, has already caught attention.

'Thank goodness you asked me this because otherwise jisse dekho, woh sirf good looks and songs and dances ki baat karta hai. No one talks about acting,' sighs Varun, 'However look at any of Karan's films right from KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI to MY NAME IS KHAN, do you think any of his actors can escape from the high octane drama?'

He goes on to add, 'There is a lot of emotional play in the film and trust me, I was dying to get into that zone. It all became possible under Karan Johar's guidance because, he is a master when it comes to emotions. I learnt a lot from him.'

Well, come 19th October and it would be known if after all the learning, Karan's students do pass with distinction marks or even higher.
