Sonam Kapoor wants to help Banaras weavers

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor has just returned from Banaras after a hectic 45-day schedule of RAANJHNAA.

Sonam Kapoor during the shoot visited a lot of local weavers and picked up a lot of sarees for her friends and relatives. She had always heard from her mom that some of the best craftsmen are in old city and she visited them frequently during her stay.

Sonam Kapoor was taken a back at the plight of some of the weavers who were extremely good at their work but not doing very well. She has returned to city determined to do something for the weavers' community.

She is keen to speak to all her designer friends to use their art form more frequently. She wants to revive their style as today's style and request designers to make contemporary designs so today's youngsters can wear.

Sonam is all set to meet designers, suppliers and see what concrete steps she can take to help these weavers.

Sonam Kapoor is the youngest fashion icon in our country.
