Bollywood box-office report of the week

Last Friday's major release, Karan Johar's 50 crore (all inclusive cost), STUDENT OF THE YEAR, surprised all with an inspired weekend (26-27 crore) and a very stable run during the weekdays. The film is looking at a week of nearly 40 crore from India, which is very creditable for a newcomer(s) film! SOTY has not done as well in the overseas (decent in US) grossing £131,200 from UK and $326,500 in the US, during the opening weekend (19-21 October).

The other releases of the same week, Sandeep Malani directed JANLEVA 555, the animated DELHI SAFARI and SHUDRA - THE RISING, have all been rejected.
