As expected the front runner was Jackky Bhagnani's AJAB GAZABB LOVE which did manage a good show at some cinemas, though the overall opening varied from 30-45 percent. The film did show signs of a pick up during the latter shows, based on the audience feedback. On the other hand, RUSH managed just about 20-30 percent at an all India level, but was much better at massy centers and single screens. Coming to the third release of the week, Prakash Jha's CHAKRAVYUH (which released on Wednesday), the film had a so-so opening on the first day and fell noticeably on the second (Thursday) and the third day (Friday) was no better. CHECK OUT: Movie Review - AJAB GAZABB LOVEIn fact, the best performance came from the week old Karan Johar directed, STUDENT OF THE YEAR, which after a good opening week of around 43- 44 crore (to be validated), was the preferred choice of the audience even during the second weekend. To conclude on a cheerful note, the collection of all the above mentioned films is likely to pick up due to the Eid-ul-Azha holidays during the remaining two days of the weekend.
