BARFI!: Another 'unconventional' triumph for Ranbir?

Actor Ranbir Kapoor is one of those rare stars who was destined to be superstar, even before his first film released, and we were the first source to call him the future superstar way back in 2007 itself!

Coming to the topic at hand, Ranbir, had he chosen to do so, would have easily become the teenage heart-throb with half-a-dozen romcom box-office hits. But then superstars are made of sterner stuffs and each of his film was different from the previous one, based on a conscious decision.

His last hit, ROCKSTAR, the tragic travails of a rock star was a 'hat ke' theme for the Hindi cinema. And now his next, this Friday's Anurag Basu directed, BARFI!, seems set to be another unconventional triumph for Ranbir as both the lead actors, Ranbir and Priyanka Chopra, essay mentally/physically challenged roles, a rarity in Hindi cinema.

Given the great response to the promos, the superb music, innovative and interesting promotions, and splendid performances by the lead actors, Ranbir and Priyanka, have ensured that BARFI! will surely open to a good response at the multiplexes and at good single screens of big cities.
