Rani: AIYYAA is a light hearted whacky film

Her NO ONE KILLED JESSICA was a heavy duty affair while TALAASH - THE ANSWER LIES WITHIN too is all set to be a serious dramatic thriller. Since it was prudent that Rani Mukerji does an out and out fun film in the interim period, there is all the more reason for her to be happy with the way audience has been reacting to AIYYAA.

'I have always given importance to the scripts that come my way and wanted to select the best of the lot. Yes, there was this factor playing on in my mind that between these two serious movies, it would be good if something light hearted comes my way. AIYYAA came at just the right time and since I like comedies, everything just fitted in. This is a light hearted whacky film with a sweet love story to tell. I was just lucky to have got hold of this script as it only made my life easier to just go for the film.'

While it is apparent that she has clearly enjoyed her stint in the film, Rani too is happy that she has managed to get the entertainment quotient bang on.

'When people tell you that they have been laughing continuously after watching the promo 10-20-30 times, you are bound to feel confident of the fact that you have managed to convey the message correctly. Yes, I was kind of sure that people would be positive but what I am touched about is the way they are wording their reactions. That's humbling,' smiles Rani before signing off.

Directed by Sachin Kundalkar, who is making his Bollywood debut with the film, AIYYAA also marks the arrival of Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran. With music by Amit Trivedi and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the film releases all over on 12th October 2012.
