Jackie Shroff on COVER STORY: Some journos just want to run away

It is a known fact that Jackie Shroff is playing a journalist in his next film COVER STORY which is seeing some good momentum building for itself. While a characterisation like this is a first for him, Jackie Shroff is happy to open up on his experience with journalists during last 30 years. While some of the interactions have been memorable, he understands that many out there just treat it as a job and want to wrap it up all in a hurry.

Laughs Shroff, "There are some journalists who just want to take a few quotes and run away and then there are some who want to go in-depth. You can make out from their body language whether they are interested or not. I brought similar traits in my character for COVER STORY since I play the part of this journo who is basically a war correspondent and doesn't wish to interview an actress. However he is forced by his editor to do so against his wish since the need of the hour is to get a cover story out of her."

He goes on to add, "I have been exposed to so many journalists and understand that being one is a very tough job. For us celebrities, giving answers is easy; for you journalists, posing questions is the difficult part. At the end of the day, questions are so limited. Aap kya poochoge? 'How did you like work with this director?', 'Yeh producer kaisa hai?', 'Is co-star ke saath kaisi chemistry hai?' etc. I understand it is difficult to be creative there. It's a huge challenge to ask things differently from a typical way. My writer and director faced the same challenge when they drafted questions for my character in COVER STORY."

Come October and it would be interesting to see how the Q&A session unfolds on the big screen.
