Sung by Bappi Da in his inimitable style, 'Mere L Lag Gaye' is particularly close to his heart because it's come in the 40th year of his career. The veteran music composer has collaborated with director Subhash Kapoor and composer Krsna for the number which is comic and satirical at the same time. Talking about the song, Bappi Lahiri mentions, ''The first time I heard the song, I knew this was a superhit. It had very catchy music by Krsna, very earthy yet contagious lyrics by director Subhash Kapoor, and it was about the common man and his woes, and who else could represent the common man better than Arshad Warsi! I think 'Mere L Lag Gaye' is a superhit in every sense.'' And the moment I set it to tune, I saw the entire studio humming it, women included. It touched a chord somewhere and when Bappi Da lent his voice, his energy took the song to a different zone altogether.'' Director Subhash Kapoor, who has also penned the lyrics for the song says, ''The moment we prepared the concept of 'Mere L Lag Gaye' both Krsna and I agreed that only Bappi Da could sing this one. This song is BappiDa's gift to his fans on completing forty years in Bollywood.'' Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, concludes, '''This song is our anthem for JOLLY LLB. We are confident it will find resonance with the common man. Krsna has composed it beautifully and Bappi Da has brought it to life with his voice. The fact that this song comes on the occasion of Bappi Da's 40th year of his contribution to the music industry, makes it all the more significant for all his music lovers.''
