KAI PO CHE! & use of slogans in Hindi films

'Kai Po Che!' till the time KAI PO CHE! was released was a Gujarati terminology, that was heard around Makar Sankranti or the month of January every year at its peak. Credit for introducing the slogan KAI PO CHE! to the fans of cinema however also needs to be given to Sanjay Leela Bhansali as well, as it was in his film HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM that KAI PO CHE! was introduced for the first time in recent memory.

The release of KAI PO CHE! directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by UTV films provides an opportunity to run through all such colloquial terms that have been used by the Hindi cinema from time to time and have caught the imagination of the fans all across the country and outside. A caveat needs to be entered here, while KAI PO CHE! has a meaning there are few terms which are in the form of nonsensical rhyme to give an identity that is shot through and through with uniqueness.
