Nushrat Bharucha on AKAASH VANI: Tough to move from ensemble to lead actor

She registered a good presence with LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA and followed it up with a convincing act of a nagging girlfriend in PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA.

With two critically acclaimed and commercial successes behind her, one would have expected Nushrat Bharucha to be on cloud nine. However she is pretty much grounded and claims that she is waiting for AKAASH VANI to turn successful as well before staking higher claims.

"I have been realistic on where I stand in the market. Even when LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA was successful, I knew that I wouldn't be instantly able to jump into the league where I would be happy to do what I wanted to do. Later when PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA came, I was relatively eased out and calm. Still, even after PYAAR KA... I knew that it would be tough to move from ensemble to lead actor,'' says Nushrat in an honest tone.

This time around she is far more confident though since AKAASH VANI reunites her with the same team of co-actor Kartik Tiwari and director Luv Ranjan who came together for PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA.

"I consider myself lucky,'' smiles Nushrat, "I knew that I had to put the right foot forward at the right time instead of getting impatient. I just needed to have faith in myself. Also, due to Luv's trust and belief, I managed to bag AKAASH VANI.''

With music by Hitesh Sonik, the film releases all over on 25th January.
