Steven Spielberg's Bollywood film could be an adoption of Hollywood flick

Since the time he has landed in Mumbai Steven Spielberg has charmed the film fraternity, what with Big B and the who's who of the world of Hindi cinema attended the party hosted by Anil Ambani, sixty such directors from the film industry attended this gala event. Coming of Steven Spielberg to India would not have been possible were it not for the fact that the Reliance Entertainment company had entered into a strategic tie up with Steven Spielberg's Company Dreamworks, and their joint production LINCOLN won Oscar awards this year.

Steven Spielberg has been one director who has made films where children play an important role, one of his most such successful experiments being ET, but his Indiana Jones series has also been a visual treatise. Spielberg has expressed the hope that he wishes to make a film based on Indo-Pakistan border, and it could be an adoption from a Hollywood film.

Steven Spielberg has also created two monumental war films one SCHINDLER'S LIST and other SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, both dealing with the atrocities associated with war, and if he is planning to make a film situated on Indo-Pakistan border it does have a potential to be interpreted in a different manner. After all, this has been a scar on the psyche of these two nations and the wounds continue to fester in one form or the other.

There are viewpoints about the fact emanating from Spielberg's statement that he wants to make Hollywood films in Bollywood. Well, one would only like to say that Hollywood has been a source of inspiration for Bollywood for quite a long time, but even then, when a Spielberg would re-make a Hollywood film in Bollywood, he would inject an element of novelty that would be shot through and through with his trademark style of film making. One only hopes that Reliance Entertainment will take a cue from the meeting, and perhaps sign in Big B as the lead actor in the film to be directed by Spielberg. After all, Big B and Spielberg have hit it off rather well after their meeting.
