It has been a couple of years since Ajay Devgn has had a bonafide hit to his name, and SINGHAM RETURNS is all set to change the tide for him.
Though 2012 was special for him with two huge hits BOL BACHCHAN and SON OF SARDAAR, 2013 was pretty lukewarm with HIMMATWALA followed by SATYAGRAHA, which couldn't really cover the distance after a good start.
No wonder, his newest outing with Rohit Shetty is being looked at with good interest. After all, SINGHAM has pretty much managed to fetch a cult outing for itself over the last three years. The film has stayed on in news ever since its release and the hype has been just right for the sequel too.
Now that the film is arriving on the Independence Day and there is a Janmashtami holiday on Monday, SINGHAM RETURNS has a four day long weekend waiting to be explored, something that is bound to keep Ajay Devgn pretty confident about its box office prospects.
CHECK OUT: SINGHAM RETURNS Movie Special
On its release, SINGHAM had fetched a great opening weekend. Now unless the content is a spoiler (which doesn't seem to be the case), SINGHAM RETURNS should comfortably bring in 50 crore during the first four days itself, if not between Friday and Sunday. While 100 crore is a given for the film, it would be interesting to see how far the film goes from that point to become Ajay Devgn's highest grosser ever.
His highest grosser(s) so far have been GOLMAAL 3 followed by SON OF SARDAAR, BOL BACHCHAN and SINGHAM. While a 100 crore plus seems certainly attainable, the game has got much bigger for SINGHAM RETURNS which has Rohit Shetty as a director who boasts of a 200 crore plus blockbuster to his name in the form of CHENNAI EXPRESS.
Stakes are high and Ajay has the stage set to deliver!
