A few months back, he was seen as an IAS officer in KOYELAANCHAL. Now in DESI KATTEY, Suniel Shetty is returning as an Army man who also doubles up as a shooting coach.
Confirms director Anand Kumar, who last made ZILLA GHAZIABAD with Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and Vivek Oberoi, 'Yes, 'Anna' (as Suniel Shetty is fondly called) has a very pivotal role in the film. He is the one who spots my two key protagonists in the film, played by Akhil Kapur and Jay Bhanushali. Though they are criminals who indulge in making ‘desi kattey’, Shetty believes in their talent as sharp shooters and takes them under his wings. He believes that if they follow the right path and enter in the world of sports, they would be able to cover quite some distance.'
Apparently, there is a back story in the film which establishes the reason behind why Suniel wants the youngsters to succeed for him.
'He feels that the two youngsters are spoiling their lives by not putting their talent to right use,' continues Anand, 'Since he is an Army man, he has a knack for realizing talent, potential and the right people. He motivates them to play for the country.'

So much so that one of the protagonists even manages to reach Olympics, hence making DESI KATTEY one of those unique films where the world of gangsters and sports amalgamates to meet a common destination.
While those close to Suniel insist that in the film he has given a notable performance which is subtle and remarkably different from the kind of aggression that he has shown in a career spanning a couple of decades and a half, one waits to see him in act once DESI KATTEY releases all over on 29th August.
