HUMSHAKALS releases today and it is turning out to be one of those rare comedies which are high on VFX. Though it is a norm for films belonging to action and horror genre to boast of high dose of special effects, HUMSHAKALS relies a lot on that as well, courtesy triple role casting of Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Ram Kapoor.
"Yes, visual effects were very challenging for the film and in fact a specialist designer was flown down from UK just for that," informs Sajid Khan, "Since so many scenes in the film require more than one Saif, Riteish and Ram in a single frame, it was pretty much required that for audience, it was a seamless experience."
In fact the film's climax is touted to be a never seen before experience since there are multiple frames where there are three Saifs, Riteishs and Rams coming together.
"Though there are visual effects in the film, the best part is that you won't come to know about technique coming into play," says Sajid.
He goes on to reiterate though that at the end of it all, it is story which takes precedence over all the technical wizardry.
"While the special effects have come out really seamless, I would be the first to say that story telling is always the most important thing. Really, I would be happy if people say that story was better than the visual effects, instead of vice versa. In any case, the screenplay of HUMSHAKALS is engaging, interesting and entertaining enough to keep you glued to the screens," promises Sajid.
We would like to see that as well.
