Sohail Khan Productions and UTV Spot Boy's last venture, KISAAN may not have been a very rewarding experience for both the production houses, yet their next venture, MAIN AURR MRS KHANNA, starring the star of the masses, Salman Khan, younger brother, Sohail Khan, one of the premier heroines of Bollywood, Kareena Kapoor, ex comedian No 1 Govinda and Preity Zinta, in a special appearance seems to be right on track. Composing music for this emotional and romantic drama are Salman Khan's good friends Sajid -Wajid, who together have rocked the nation with hits like MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI, MAINE PYAAR KYUN KIYA and the latest WANTED. So, will MAIN AURR MRS KHANNA turn out to be another feather in the crown for the composer duo? Let's check out their latest offering!

The first composition ''Don't Say Alvida'' is the perfect example of just how ear pleasing, simple and sweet melody can be, that 'meethi dhun' that mesmerizes and tugs at the heart. Sajid-Wajid follow this tried and tested route to instant success which composers like Jatin-Lalit and Nadeem-Shravan have done in the past in super hit romantic drama flicks. Rarely heard Sonu Nigam's eclectic vocals are the highlight of this out and out romantic composition that talks about meeting and separation. And all credit to Sajid Wajid for roping in this choosy singer to sing this number, as no one else could have done justice to it. It's a real pleasure to hear the new nightingale, Shreya Ghoshal, along with Sonu, as she is just the perfect foil for the versatile singer. Suzanne D'Mello's soft rendition in form of choir give the composition an international touch. The song definitely has just the right ingredients that are required for a superb love song. Junaid Wasi's lyrics are novel, simple Urdu combining with Hindi and English that is identifiable.

CHECK OUT: Kareena will go any extent for friends

The sad version of ''Don't Say Alvida'' has Shreya Ghoshal singing with utmost feelings in a minimal musical arranged background, and is a situational track which will feature during some emotional turn of events.

The remixed version of ''Don't Say Alvida'' has been beautifully done, the essence of the song, its sweet melody, has been kept intact and lots of bead sounds and synthesizers has been added.

The next number, ''Happening'' is most definitely a happening track going by all the elements that have been added by the composers. First of all its an item/dance number, picturised on Priety Zinta, who prefers to call it a special number, along with Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Kareena Kapoor, this track is a sure fire chartbuster. The techno 'qawwali', the musical arrangements comprising of harmonium, drums, tabla etc along with an instantly catchy rhythm make it a thoroughly enjoyable fare. The 'happening' signature tune is absolutely rocking. The queen of item numbers, Sunidhi Chauhan, is in top form as this is her forte where she excels and giving her company are Wajid, Farhad, Uvie and Raja Mushtaq, who are present mainly as chorus. Sajid - Wajid do a good job of creating an item number akin to the chartbuster from BUNTY AUR BABLI (''Kajra Re'') but its popularity may not touch the roof like its predecessor as ''Kajra Re'' was more massy and this is more classy.

''Happening-Remix'' is a job hurriedly done and not much effort has been made except for added beats and faster rhythm.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's soulful rendition is the highlight of ''Rabba'', a sad and morose situational track that talks about the 'judaai' and 'vasl' in a heart wrenching manner. The lyrics carry the somber and sad mood of being separated from the beloved, and Jalees Sherwani is in prime form as he mixes Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi to create words that are really heart touching. ''Rootha rootha rahta hai ye mann, Jaane aisi kya hai uljhan, Tere bina hasta nahin hai, Jaane mera kyun hai dushman.'' The classical touch imparted to the song makes it classy.

Wajid's base vocals welcome with Pritam's trademark 'wo o o' in ''Tum Ne Socha'', and Sajid Wajid show that if Pritam can do it, so can they. Soft rock love ballad that goes ballistic later on in the 'antara', as the song picks up pace and momentum. Harping on percussions, this number has Shreya giving company to Wajid. The composer shows that he has good control over his vocals as he sings most of the high pitched parts with elan, although K.K. would have been perfect for the job. Shreya sings in an anglicized manner keeping the rock and western mood of the song intact. Arun Bhairav's lyrics are filmy and routine.

CHECK OUT: Preity Zinta's hot item number in MAIN AURR MRS KHANNA

The album comes to an end with the highly charged, funny and situational theme song, ''Mrs Khanna''. It can be called a 'ched-chaad' propositioning number, but there is a catch as the track has that element of fun, humour and passion all rolled in one. The song itself is quite unique as can be heard from the arrangements, ranging from vigorous 'dhol' beats to acid rock guitar strumming and Suzanne D'Mello's passion filled English croonings. The song has been modeled on ''Pretty Woman'' (KAL HO NA HO) but the song itself is quite different from it. Shaan's youthful and Sunidhi's attitude filled vocals are a contrast, and the chorus, comprising of the likes of Bappi Lahiri and Neuman Pinto repeating ''Who, Mrs. Khanna'' is the catch line of the song and hooks the listener instantly. A totally timepass, 'dhamal' entertainer that would be fun to watch on the screen as well.

To sum up, the audio of album of MAIN AURR MRS KHANNA proves exactly why Sajid -Wajid are Salman Khan's favourite composer duo. No doubt they reserve their best for Sallu, as can be seen from their WANTED, which is ruling the charts. The songs of MAIN AURR MRS KHANNA should prove to be runway hits and aid in giving the movie a good opening when the film releases this Diwali. Although all the songs are good, our vote goes to, ''Don't Say Alvida'', ''Happening'' and ''Mrs. Khanna''.
