Amongst the few highly talented and iconoclastic forever young directors, the name Sriram Raghvan stands out loud and clear, and his illustrious line of films EK HASINA THI, JOHNNY GADDAR and AGENT VINOD are a testimony to the fact. Music of his last film, AGENT VINOD (Prtiam) was a rage and one expects the same from the promising and talented duo, Sachin-Jigar. So let's get on and check out the audio.
' is a highly popular Punjabi folk number/tune used mostly in romantic and happy situations, but trust Sachin-Jigar, who come up with a master stroke changing it into an angry, heartbreak number, using soft rock and 'sufi
' which is simply mind blasting. Lyrics engulf the revenge spirit of BADLAPUR
. Divya Kumar is scintillating, his outbursts in the chorus excellent.
The rock version is laden with different but again rockish arrangements and lovely percussions.
It's a pleasure listening to Atif Aslam's dreamy vocals in the soft and serene romantic outing, 'Jeena Jeena
'. The fresh tune and lovely arrangements combined with nice apt lyrics make for a good number, but one expected more. Also Check Out: BADLAPUR songs lyrics
The remix version is predictable with same broken vocals, DJ scratches and heightened rhythm.
Rekha Bhardwaj and Arijit Singh, two master artists come up with masterly renditions in superb, sad, separation number aptly titled, 'Judaai
'. The Punjabi folk inspired song with western and Hindustani fusion is classy.
While BADLAPUR is a short and brief album with just three songs and versions but it is certainly quality over quantity here. Songs are classy but the already popular 'Jee Karda
' (original version) is our pick. The classy album should gain more popularity after the release of the film on 20th February.Music Review Rating Chart :-
