There are restricted expectations from Tips musical offering, BALWINDER SINGH FAMOUS HO GAYA, even though the film features two of the most talented and sought after star singers (now turned actors) of Bollywood, Shaan and Mika Singh. Music by Mika is expected to be full of 'masti' and attitude as well, and with Shaan giving Mika company, things should be interesting. Let's check out the audio of BALWINDER SINGH FAMOUS HO GAYA.

The beach party song 'Shake That Booty' has all the right ingredients that make the song hit the right notes. Mika keeps the tempo slow and groovy and renders the song in his imitable style. Deep Cold rap (Yo Yo style) adds to the party fun. But all said and done, the song does not really hook as it should.

The remix(ed) version of 'Shake That Booty' makes for a nice repeat here.

The sound of trumpets commence 'Bhopu', a masti fun filled song that sounds good as long as it lasts. But alas the tune that Mika chooses is heard (Goan influences very pronounced) before umpteen times and a fresher approach would have worked wonders in the situation. Having said that, Mika and Shaan sing well in tandem. The lyrics are funny and in sync with the situation.

Mika Singh tries to show his prowess as a romantic singer in the breezy love song, 'Main Tera Hoon' and does well. Interestingly, this song would have suited Shaan better. The lyrics are functional and routine. The rap by Deep Cold is good.

'Kaun Samjhaaye' is a propositioning number rendered by Mika, but once again a very heard before Punjabi folk tune has been used to craft the number. The use of rap here fails to highlight the cause further. Lyrics are routine.

There is another version of 'Kaun Samjhaye' (House Mix) and it is a mere space filler, although this one sounds better than the original, being more club friendly.

Shaan comes up with (what is supposed to be) a full on masti number, 'Kenny ji', a situational track that urges the lead protagonist to play the saxophone! The lyrics may be in sync with the situation and so are the female chorals/rap playing in the background. However once again the choice of tune is simply atrocious and so the song fails to create any sort of an impression.

Summing up, the audio of Tips BALWINDER SINGH FAMOUS HO GAYA is a below average effort. In fact to an extent it can be even termed as poor, especially if one considers the fact that this album is a Tips offering, which till now has enjoyed a superb reputation as far as their musical ventures are concerned. Additionally, it features Mika Singh and Shaan, two highly accomplished singers in full-fledged lead roles. The album disappoints big time. The audio will not add to the film when it releases all over on 26th September as the audience will certainly expect extraordinary music from a Mika and Shaan project.
