Director Nupur Asthana's MUJHSE FRAANDSHIP KAROGE under the banner Y Films,' a subsidiary of Yash Raj Films' was a runaway success, and its music by talented musician, Raghu Dixit too was noticed. So, one does expect some good music by the same team (this time for the YRF) for their next venture BEWAKOOFIYAAN which stars actor-singer Ayushman Khurrana, whose previous two films have had chartbusting music.
Techno beats and synthesizers commence 'Gulcharrey', a racy situational track about the 'mast' and carefree life of lead protagonist with not a care in the world and not worrying about the future. Benny Dayal and Aditi Singh Sharma render the average number with zest.
Neeti Mohun and Ayushman Khurrana gel well for another situational number 'Khamakhaan' which is slightly different from the usual 'chhed-chhad' number. Here the leads are not fighting for each other's attention but it's the money problems that they are facing that is keeping them apart. The tune is not fresh and has a huge hangover of Rahman of yore (RANGEELA days)!

The composer Raghu Dixit, who is also a very good singer (with superb macho vocals), comes behind the mike for the title track, 'Bewakoofiyaan', a high on energy and fresh and youthful composition. The lyrics convey the theme of the movie well and the musical arrangements with electric guitars, drums, flute and bass make up a good soundtrack.
Mohit Chauhan and the neo- nightingale Shreya Ghoshal (whose flawed diction is a big letdown) render the racy love ballad, 'Rumaani Sa', which is average and has a heard before feel to it. Anvita's lyrics though are unique and fresh with simple Urdu and Hindi.
Soft rock and lovely rhythm add to the charm in 'Jigda
' which can be classified as an ode to overconfidence and self-belief. Vishal Dadlani renders the song with ease and emotions. However it's the lyrics which are the highlights of the track as they successfully and humorously convey the high on confidence of the lead.
Ayushman Khurrana's 'O Heeriye
' the hit Punjabi number that he composed and co-produced along with his friend Rochak Kohli, which was released last year to a superb response, has been included here. And the song does lend the album the chartbusting touch that was missing. CHECK OUT: BEWAKOOFIYAAN - Songs Lyrics
Summing up, one does feel a bit letdown after hearing the album as BEWAKOOFIYAAN is an offering from the Yash Raj Films' whose reputation as a premier production house with superb music is the call of the day. And talented musician Raghu Dixit too is a big name in the music scene. The title track and Ayushman's 'O Heeriye
' are the saving grace of the album and our picks as well. Ayushman's popularity and Yash Raj Films should see the film open decently when it release all over March 14th, 2014.
