Any audio album composed by Amit Trivedi garners huge expectations as he has always come up with brilliant and quite original scores that are not just chartbusting but musically and creatively rich. And one expects just that in the Red Chillies Entertainment's, Dharma Productions and Hope Productions Gauri Shinde (ENGLISH VINGLISH) directed, DEAR ZINDAGI, that also sees the Badshah of Bollwyood Shah Rukh Khan in an extended cameo.

DEAR ZINDAGI WALLPAPERSDEAR ZINDAGI WALLPAPERS

The title track 'Love You Zindagi' stays true to the spirit of the movie and provides glimpses of what to expect from the movie. The carefree, free spirited message of love that urges one to go on and accept what the heart wants and let go of the unwanted is conveyed through some simple and relatable lyrics by Kausar. Jasleen Royal renders the number with effortless ease and elan (her vocals suit Alia) along with Amit, and a good chorus providing support.

The 'Love You Zindagi Mix' is a nice second hear with heightened rhythm and beats.

Lovely guitar strums commence 'Tu Hi Hai', another very relatable love ditty, the kind that one associates with SEL and Javed Akhtar. A simple flowing melody with soft and minimal background arrangements, lovely crescendo and Arijit's flawless rendition, not to forget Kausar's lyrics (the male lead wonders whether she is the one!), are the highlight of the track.

Lovely jazz orchestration complete with trumpet forms the backbone of a superb prepositioning number 'Taarefon Se'. Amit's choice of tune is praiseworthy as it is easy on the lips and very hummable and Kausar Munir lyrics are just brilliant and so is Arijit who can just never go wrong.

With the Gen Next still humming the 'Break Up Song' (AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL), Amit Trivedi comes up with his break up song titled 'Lets Break Up' which is in 70s-80s retro disco style, and must say does a superb job. The humorous song that throws an insight into frivolous relationships and the Casanova nature of the male lead is sung with zeal by Vishal Dadlani. Once again Kausar pens lyrics that will surely be identifiable by the young gen.

If there is a break up song then there will surely be a heart break number and 'Just Go To Hell Dil' is just that perfect one, sung brilliantly by Sunidhi. The number commences as a sad, self-pity number but later shrugs off saying 'just go to hell dil' in a superb rockish crescendo which is surely the USP of the song. Kausar Munir deserves all the kudos for some superb lyrics.

'Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le-1' : Illaiyaraaja- Gulzar's masterpiece from Kamal Haasan's SADMA sung by Suresh Wadekar, is refurbished here and Amit and Arjit do a fabulous job. The second version 'Ae Zindagi Gale Gala Le-2' is rendered by Alia Bhatt who does a fair job.

Amit-Kausar team deserve standing ovation for coming up with an excellent audio . All the songs are not just ear pleasing but musically rich as well and blend seamlessly into the script and story of the film. Our picks- 'Love You Zindagi', 'Taarefon Se' and 'Just Go To Hell Dil' and Arjit's version of 'Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le' .
