With emphasis of most Sunny Deol movies being on action, one tends to forget that the macho man has been associated with some of the most memorable compositions in Bollywood history (BETAAB, SOHNI MAHIWAL, SUNNY, JEET, BORDER, GADAR- EK PREM KATHA, HERO and I LOVE NEW YORK etc.). Even his iconic action hit, GHAYAL, had some lovely and chartbusting audio scores. So one expects the experienced trio, S-E-L, who had earlier provided some lovely music for Sunny's directorial venture, DILLAGI, to deliver some good scores although there are just two songs in the album.
The song which is already hitting a chord with the young gen, 'Lapak Jhapak
' salutes the free spirited attitude of friendship and camaraderie between friends (the four main protagonists) and S-E-L carve out a nice, easy to hum song fit for the occasion. Yashita Sharma, Siddharth Mahadevan and Armaan Malik sing with zest.
'Khuda Tere Andar Hai
' is a soulful motivational track that talks about finding your inner voice and fighting for truth and never giving up. The semi-soft rock number is rendered well by man with the golden voice, Arijit Singh and is situational in nature and will find place during soul searching background score.
Summing up, there are just two songs which are just above ordinary and one expected SEL to come up with two excellent numbers to balance the equation. The situational songs may not help the cause of GHAYAL ONCE AGAIN but Sunny Paji's 'dhai kilo ka haath
' should be enough to help the film get a good opening, when it releases all over this Friday.
