Indra Kumar's GREAT GRAND MASTI is the third in the super hit series of the adult comedy MASTI franchise with the first one boasting of some exceptionally good music, but later on music took a backseat, as the last edition, GRAND MASTI, was quite a letdown. However one expects some chartbusting melodic stuff from Sanjeev Darshan and Sharib-Toshi.
'Teri Kamar Ko
' is actually the title track of 'Great Grand Masti
' and is on the whole a nice and foot tapping number with the 'mukhda
' being inspired by 'Badtameez Dil
' (given the way that Sanjeev and Darshan render it). Kanika Kapoor lends oomph to the composition with her bindaas rendition.
Ila Arun's evergreen superhit Rajasthani folk song, 'Resham Ka Rumal
' is refurbished and tailored suitably by Sharib-Toshi to turn into a groovy club dance number. Sharib and Sonya Varma render the number with zest and Manoj Yadav's lyrics (even though laden with double meanings in places) are quite apt.
'Lipstick Laga Ke
' starts of quite similar (just the initial music) to Indra Kumar's super hit number 'Mujhe Neend Na Aye
', but it actually emerges as yet another club dance number with rap and hip hop thrown in. Payal Dev renders the number adequately but its Shaan who throws a surprise with his 'hatke' rendition.
Comparatively speaking the audio score of GREAT GRAND MASTI is better than that of the last edition (GRAND MASTI). Having said that the album lacks in originality and is quite average (though situational) with just one track that shows promise, 'Teri Kamar Ko
'. However brand MASTI may help the cause of the film and its music at the box-office when it releases this Friday.Music Review Rating Chart :-
