Kaante, the multi-starrer by Sanjay Gupta is one of the most talked movie for various reasons. First the star cast which includes Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Kumar Gaurav, Manoj Manjrekar & Lucky Ali; second the story and lastly that it has been shot entirely in US and the technical crew is from Hollywood. The music is composed by Anand Raaj Anand. Lucky Ali & Vishal/Shekhar are the guest composers. Anand Raaj Anand experiments with the music to provide music in class with the storyline of the movie.


The album starts with Ishq Samundar, a catchy number that is written & sung by Anand Raaj Anand with Sunidhi Chauhan. The song has Isha Koppikar along with Sanjay who does an excellent job on the dance floor. The track has great potentials and would be a hit.

Rama re the best of album is sung by Sanjay Dutt, Shaan, Zubin, Anand Raaj Anand & Sudesh Bhosle. The track reflects the characters and their mind set. Though it sounds very much like Shahrukh Khan's 'Kohi na kohi chahiye' of Deewana, but Rame re falls in a different category of songs, which are too bold.

Dil kya kare is a love song by Kumar Sanu and Kavita Krishnamurthy. It's very much a track for a romantic movie and doesn't gel with the theme and rough & tough characters of the movie.

Maut is written, composed & sung by Lucky Ali. Lucky experiments with his vocal & style and moves away from his traditional style of singing soulful songs. The outcome is a dark song about death, which stands out.

Socha nahin tha is the sad version of Rame re by Shaan & Zubin. To continue the same track, there's a Thumbs Up remix of Rame Re by Sulaiman Merchant an equal good number.

Chhod na re is another multi singer song by Sanjay Dutt, Udit Narayan, Sudesh Bhosle & Manoj Manjrekar. However, Rama re wins the race against Chhod na re. The music is composed by Vishal / Shekhar. There's a remix of the same album by Vishal J.

Baby Baby is another number by Sunidhi Chauhan. The solo track is typical item number, which might be a hit.

Yaar Mangiyasi is a Punjabi song by Sonu Nigam. An ordinary slow sad song with nothing new to offer.

Maahi ve is another song, which is different from all others in the album and the best of them. Richa Sharma & Sukhwinder together have done a good job on the song. Dev Kohli has penned the song, which has a touch of Punjab.

Anand Raaj Anand's experiment with music succeeds to a great extent in Kaante. The tracks are definitely not worth a miss except for the slow numbers which are quite regulars.
