It was a disappointing year for one of top production companies, Dharma Productions, with promising ventures like UNGLI, BROTHERS, SHAANDAAR, etc failing at the turnstile, even though musically these films did make a mark. One hopes that Karan Johar's Dharma Production achieves the same glories that it one possessed and their latest venture KAPOOR & SONS promises just that.
Badshah's chartbusting number that rocked clubs and discos for quite a while, 'Kar Gayi Chul'
is in a brand new 'avatar' (refurbished) well by Amaal Malik. Badshah, Fazilpuria, Sukriti and Neha Kakkar come together for this nice party anthem which should find favour with Gen X, yet again. 'Bolna'
might sound more like a soft Punjabi romantic number due to the lyrics but they are very simple and easy to hum. Tanishk Bagchi comes up with a very soulful, fresh and desi
heart touching number. Arijit and Asees Kaur do the honours and the song does make a good first impression.
The Malik Brothers (Amaal and Armaan) come together for a playful, joyful, youthful, fun number, 'Bhuddhu Sa Mann' that sets spirits free with its racy rhythm that never eases and the 'mukhda' does hook. The lovely arrangements (the whistles and keyboards are superb) go well with the free spirited mood and theme of the song (the joyous feeling of falling in love!) .
Arko's 'Saathi Rey' is trademark Arko soft, romantic cum separation number with simple, elegant tune and lovely rocking crescendo. Arko renders the number with ease though his diction is slightly flawed (baaki).
Badshah and famous remix artist Nucleya's 'Lets Nacho' is another nice, party dance number with a lovely harmonica signature tune. Benny Dayal chips in with Badshah leading the way with his characteristic rap.
Summing up, its' a light, frothy, entertaining mix that the composers provide keeping in mind the youthful and fun spirit of the romantic movie. 'Kar Gayi Chul', 'Bolna', 'Buddhu Sa Mann' are our chosen ones and the audio should act as an added bonus when the film releases worldwide on 18th March. Music Review Rating Chart :-
