By Ronak Kotecha Send to Friend

Be it Black Bucks or a showdown with the showman Subhash Ghai or his ex-girlfriends or slapping director Satish Kaushik on the sets of Tere Naam or a fatal accident - nothing can mar the magnetism and hysteria of this Khan. This is apparent from the pre-release ripples created by his latest venture with brother Sohail Khan – ‘Lucky - No Time for Love’. Lucky is a Sohail Khan Production, a T-Series film directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru duo that have created enough controversies through their steamy music videos (Kaanta Laga, Chadti Jawani) to become eligible to direct Salman Khan. Post ELAAN this would be Mithun Chakraborthy’s next release.

Lucky will serve as a debut vehicle for one Sneha Ullal who is apparently Ash’s look alike (though, not always) and to Adnan Sami who graduates as a solo composer with Lucky, Sameer being the lyricist.

Sumptuous majestic backdrops, affluent costumes and striking pastel shades make way for a divine tune – ‘Jaan Meri Jaa Rahi Sanam’. A tune so rich with melody and vocals of stalwarts Udit Narayn and Anuradha Paudwal, effortlessly makes way to the heart while making space for other such tracks to follow. A simple and lovable melody set on momentous lyrics is an instant hit with the audiences, Sami, and Sameer deserve every bit of applause for this.

Adnan just gets better with his next and consequently ‘Sun Zara’ notches up a few more accolades and the reasons are more than one. Sonu Nigam renders the pain and agony of love and severance expressed equally well on screen by Salman. A track that will be readily soaked up by Salman - Sonu fans and of course, countless Romeos extremely passionate about love, separation et al.

When it comes to tender love with some harmless naughtiness, there is no one better than Ashaji even today and hope there will not be any for many more years to come. An elegant and perfect blend of Hindi-English libretto and Indo Western style of music is ‘Lucky Lips’. Ashaji’s superb rendition with all her added frills that add to the magic and a constant beat in the backdrop make the track extremely perky and spry.

Adnan peps up the tranquility of ‘Sun Zara’ and creates The Luboy Mix that is as good as an instrumental, but the treatment is all the rage and truly adds value to the album making it a better compilation.

Hum Deewane’ is a swift and spirited track with an average tune but a very contemporary treatment. The lyrics are not very infrequent, but the track runs at an express rate, which is uncommon for such a romantically worded song. Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Paudwal deliver just what is expected, but a Shreya or a Sunidhi could have been more convincing.

The Bolshoi Mix that rolls up next is a remixed version of already oh-so stylish ‘Lucky Lips’ by Ashaji. The remix is not better than the original, but not bad either.

Quite a dance track with typical Adnan beats ‘Chori Chori’ brews pleasance and youth while Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik render it with the right amount of zest and emotion. A track with lithe lyrics, breakneck beats and above all Sonu Nigam’s enormously awesome rendition should be lapped up by the youngsters.

The album concludes with a very graceful note in ‘Shayad Yahi To Pyar Hai’. Lata Mangeshkar and Adnan Sami captivate the senses of listeners while Adnan’s music arrangement and tune only do it better. Lyrically too, the track maintains the opulence and the panache, thanks to Sameer.

Musically, Lucky is one of the best movies of 2005 so far while it marks the advent of Adnan Sami as one of the most sought after music composers. With a financial support like T-Series, star value like Salman Khan, music like Adnan’s and an Actress who looks like Ash, Lucky should get Lucky.
