Dar Motion Pictures' MICKEY VIRUS has been in the news for it's innovative promos and 'league se hatke' look. MICKEY VIRUS is also getting the eyeballs due to top stars like Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor putting in their bit for the promotion of the film. And so the music of the film becomes very important for upping the prospects of the film further. So let's check out the audio.

''Pyaar China Ka Maal Hai'', composed and penned by Hanif Shaikh, is indeed a humorous take on love in current times. Manish Paul's nasal overtones are funny and he renders the song quite well, putting in his characteristic hilarious touches. But it's the lyrics that are the USP of the track, comparing love to ''China Ka Maal'' which offers no guarantee or warranty.

Sufi romantic raga based ''Tose Naina'' is a lovely composition rendered by Arijit Singh who does full justice in his husky and base macho vocals. The lyrics are inspired by the evergreen sufiana number, Amir Khusro's ''Chaap Tilak Sab Cheeni Tose Naina Milaike'', but has been used well to fit the romantic situation.

The next number, ''Sajna Ve Sajna Ve'', is a techno sufi 'qawwaali' that starts well but loses focus in between, and ends up as a hotchpotch of sufi, rock and metal. The background arrangements too are haphazard. Moreover the song itself seems to be heavily inspired from Salman's ''Teri Jawani Badi Mast Mast Hai'' (PKTDK). The lyrics too have nothing novel to offer. Altamash Faridi and Shadab Faridi render the number but fail to rise above the ordinary.

Melody reigns supreme in the petal soft, dew fresh love ballad, ''Aankhon Hi Aankhon Ne'', which features twice in the album, once as a duet by Mohit Chauhan and Palak Muchal and then as a solo by Palak. The track surely has the potential to win the hearts and climb the charts as well. The background arrangements are just right with soft guitar, percussions and harmonica. Mohit Chauhan and Palak Muchal are just exemplary.

The solo by Palak Muchal is a space filler which makes for a good second hear.

The title track, ''Mickey Virus'', is fully loaded with jazz and rock & roll and is retro in nature. Composed by Faizan Hussain and Angel Roman, it sketches the character of the lead protagonist in a humorous yet slightly critical manner. Lyrics, which are full of dark sarcasm and humour give a good insight into the character of the lead and do the needful.

The audio of MICKEY VIRUS is a mixed bag with some good tracks like ''Aankhon Hi Aankhon Ne'' and ''Tose Naina'', which are our picks and on the whole the album makes for a pleasant outing. The film is all set to release on 25th October (along with SATYA 2, SOOPER SE OOPER etc.), and if it does manage to hang on (till 1st November when KRRISH 3 releases), the songs/ album too can garner some popularity, which appears difficult if not impossible, given the mentioned odds.
